Teaching & Methodology

Teaching Methodology

'Teachers hold their students' hand for a short while, but their hearts forever.'

At Khadijatul Kubra Girls Public School, a CBSE-affiliated school, we are committed to implementing the vision and principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). Our teaching-learning practices are designed to provide a holistic, inclusive, joyful, experiential and competency-based education that develops every learner's knowledge, skills, values and attitudes.

We follow the 5+3+3+4 curricular and pedagogical structure envisioned under NEP 2020, with age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage students to learn by doing, think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate, create, solve problems and apply knowledge to real-life situations.

Our Approach

Joyful & Experiential Learning • Competency-Based Education • Foundational Literacy & Numeracy • Multidisciplinary Learning • Inquiry & Discovery-Based Learning • Critical Thinking & Creativity • Inclusive Education • Technology-Enabled Learning • Skill & Vocational Education • Values & Life Skills • Holistic Development • Competency-Based Assessment

Our aim is to nurture confident, curious, creative, compassionate, ethical and responsible lifelong learners who are prepared for higher education, careers and active participation in society.

Foundational Stage (Pre-Primary to Class II)

In accordance with the NEP 2020 framework, the Foundational Stage focuses on play-based, activity-based, discovery-based and experiential learning.

Special emphasis is placed on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences. Stories, rhymes, games, art, music, movement, conversation, puzzles and hands-on activities are integrated into classroom learning.

Children are encouraged to explore, observe, question, communicate and express themselves, while developing language, numeracy, creativity, social-emotional skills and positive learning habits.

Preparatory Stage (Classes III–V)

The Preparatory Stage builds upon foundational learning and gradually introduces more interactive, experiential and inquiry-based approaches.

Teaching focuses on developing conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation. Projects, experiments, activities, discussions, storytelling, problem-solving tasks and real-life applications are used to make learning meaningful.

Languages, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and other areas of learning are connected with students' everyday experiences. Art, physical education, health, life skills and co-curricular activities contribute to the holistic development of learners.

Middle Stage (Classes VI–VIII)

The Middle Stage encourages students to move towards conceptual, inquiry-based and multidisciplinary learning. Subject-specific learning is strengthened while students are encouraged to make connections across different disciplines.

Our pedagogy includes:

  • Inquiry and discovery-based learning
  • Laboratory and practical activities
  • Projects and experiential tasks
  • Group discussions and collaborative learning
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking activities
  • Field visits and community-based learning
  • Role plays, presentations and debates
  • Digital and technology-enabled learning
  • Exposure to skills and vocational learning

Students are encouraged to apply knowledge to real-life situations and develop the competencies required for lifelong learning.

Secondary Stage (Classes IX–XII)

At the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, teaching focuses on multidisciplinary, competency-based, experiential and student-centred learning.

Students are provided opportunities to undertake:

  • Research and project-based learning
  • Practical and laboratory work
  • Case studies and real-life problem-solving
  • Presentations, discussions and debates
  • Collaborative and peer learning
  • Digital and technology-supported learning
  • Subject integration and multidisciplinary activities
  • Career awareness and future-readiness activities

Students are encouraged to develop higher-order thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

The pedagogy promotes greater learner autonomy and prepares students for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship and responsible citizenship.

Technology-Enabled Learning

Technology is integrated thoughtfully into the teaching-learning process to enhance understanding and provide engaging learning experiences.

Digital resources, multimedia content, smart classroom facilities, educational applications, presentations, simulations and other appropriate technology-supported tools are used to supplement classroom instruction.

Students are also encouraged to develop digital literacy, responsible technology use, information literacy and 21st-century skills.

Skill, Vocational & Life-Skills Education

Following the vision of NEP 2020, we provide opportunities for students to develop practical skills, life skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities and an understanding of the world of work.

Activities related to entrepreneurship, financial awareness, digital literacy, communication, self-management, environmental awareness and vocational exposure help students connect classroom learning with real-life situations.

Holistic Development

In keeping with the vision of NEP 2020, we believe that education must address the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, creative and ethical development of every learner.

Equal importance is therefore given to:

Academic Learning • Sports & Physical Education • Art & Culture • Creativity • Life Skills • Values • Health & Well-being • Technology • Community Participation

Through this holistic approach, students are encouraged to discover their interests, recognise their strengths and develop their individual potential.

Our Commitment

At Khadijatul Kubra Girls Public School, our teaching methodology is rooted in the belief that every child can learn, grow and contribute meaningfully to society.

Guided by NEP 2020, NCF and CBSE academic principles, we endeavour to create a learning environment that is joyful, inclusive, experiential, competency-based, multidisciplinary and future-ready.

Our ultimate goal is to empower every student to become a confident, creative, capable, compassionate and responsible lifelong learner, equipped with the knowledge, skills, values and competencies required to contribute positively to the nation and the world.
