Budget Battle: The Utility Quest – Learning Economics Through Experience

At Gaurs International School, learning goes beyond classrooms! On 6 August 2026, our Class XII students participated in an engaging and thought-provoking workshop, "Budget Battle: The Utility Quest," conducted by Mr. Aryapriya Ganguly, Associate Dean of the LSE Undergraduate Programmes at the Indian School of Business and Finance (ISBF).

The workshop featured an interactive budget simulation where students, representing different nations, navigated real-world financial challenges by managing limited resources and making strategic decisions under changing circumstances.

Through this immersive experience, students gained practical insights into essential economic concepts such as budget constraints, opportunity cost, trade-offs, utility maximisation, and decision-making under uncertainty. The activity encouraged critical thinking, financial planning, and analytical decision-making while strengthening teamwork, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.

The session concluded with an engaging discussion connecting the simulation to real-world economic scenarios and concepts from Business Studies and Economics. Mr. Ganguly's dynamic facilitation and practical approach inspired students to view economics not just as a subject, but as a valuable life skill.
